Want a great hotel on the Vegas Strip that won’t blow your budget? Here are my top picks!
For the past four years, my partner and I have made the annual trip to Las Vegas, usually staying on the Strip for anywhere between two weeks to just over a month (for a mix of work and fun). Over time, we have developed some preferences and learned the hard way that where you stay can truly shape your entire Vegas experience.
We have our go-to hotel (spoiler alert, it’s Excalibur. As both MGM and Caesars Rewards members, we are often able to snag some fantastic deals), but beyond our personal choice, we know that the right hotel can make all the difference.
Vegas truly has something for everyone, and it really is a city of contrasts. You can live it up and feel like a millionaire without blowing your budget, or splurge on a luxurious stay. It really depends on what your priorities are and where you want to spend your money. If you’re looking to splurge on once-in-a-lifetime experiences like fine dining and adventure like ATV and helicopter tours, it might make more sense to save on accommodations. Especially if you’re going to be out all day and you’re not going to spend a lot of time in the hotel room. If you’re trying to save, there are still some great, affordable hotels on the Strip. The beauty of the Strip lies in its variety, and it’s part of what makes Vegas so fun. There are so many hotel options to fit any travel style or budget, and it’s hard to know which ones are right for you.
This list highlights my top affordable hotel picks on the Las Vegas Strip, covering a range of hotels that are $260 or under. This list is based on my own stays, stories from friends, and plenty of digging through reviews on Google, Booking.com, and Expedia. So if you’re planning a Vegas getaway and want to know which hotels are worth it, this is your ultimate guide! And yep, every hotel on this list is on the Strip!

Best Affordable Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip (Budget-Friendly Under $260)
Budget hotels on the Strip can be a bit of a gamble. Some are great, others… not so much (avoid Circus Circus at all costs! It’s notorious for being haunted, smelly, outdated, and overall, not the best place to stay if you’re visiting Las Vegas). But if you’re looking to save money, especially if you’re planning on staying in the Strip for a longer period of time (like we usually do), or if you just need a solid place to sleep after a night out, these picks are reliable and get the job done. No, they’re not on the same level as luxury hotels on the Strip like Caesars Palace or The Venetian, but they’re far from horror stories. Honestly, I’ve come to really appreciate these hotels, especially for our long-term stays!
1. Treasure Island Las Vegas

Treasure Island, or TI as the hotel is often called, is a solid pick if you’re looking for an affordable, fun stay right on the Strip. It’s been around for a while, and some mention that the interior has a weird smell, but honestly, I never notice it when I’m walking around the hotel. The pirate-themed touches give it a bit of charm and nostalgia, and the rooms are spacious and comfy. They’re nothing too flashy, but Treasure Island is more than just a place to crash after a day (or night) out. The rooms are solid and clean!
One of the biggest perks of staying at Treasure Island is location. It’s smack dab in the middle of the action, right across from The Venetian and just a short walk from the Fountains of Bellagio. You’ve also got a nice mix of restaurants and shows on-site, including Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere. Regarding the price, Treasure Island is a good balance of fun, comfort, and convenience. Even though it’s one of the older properties on the Strip, they’ve done a pretty good job keeping things fresh inside the hotel, and you can’t go wrong with the palm trees all around the hotel property!
People often praise the spacious rooms with scenic views, although some say that the decor may be outdated and maintenance issues (like lack of hot water) can occur. But overall, the atmosphere in Treasure Island is nostalgic and charming, even if some parts of the hotel are dated. It’s a reasonable stay for the central location!
- Address: 3300 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $85 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 8.0/10 (Booking.com), 8.4/10 (Expedia), 4.2/5 (Google)
2. Excalibur Hotel & Casino

Excalibur is a medieval-themed themed family-friendly hotel, that is known for its budget-friendly rates. Excalibur Hotel & Casino has been our go-to hotel for most of our trips to the Strip. Yeah, the theme is a little over-the-top as you’re basically staying in a giant cartoon castle, but honestly, it’s kind of charming in its own way. It’s been a Las Vegas staple for years, and it’s also one of the most family-friendly spots around, with a big “Fun Dungeon” arcade and fun shows like the Arthurian-themed dinner show Tournament of Kings (which, surprisingly, we found hilarious and super entertaining even as adults). It’s hard to find family-friendly hotels on the Strip, so if you’re looking for a place to stay that’s great for kids, Excalibur is the hotel to pick. There are steakhouses, a casual food court, a restaurant where the waiters make fun of you (Dicks Last Resort), and a full casino with table games and slots.
As far as budget hotels go, Excalibur delivers. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and surprisingly consistent, even during longer stays. It’s a great value if you’re searching for a hotel that’s both simple and relaxed. The vibe is definitely more laid-back and playful and it’s not trying to be luxurious. Honestly, that’s part of the appeal! The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and, given how cheap the rooms are per night, Excalibur is hard to beat. Plus, it’s in a great location. You’re just a short walk from New York-New York and Park MGM, and the Aria Express Tram makes it easy to hop over to spots that are more central in the Strip like Bellagio. If you’re looking to hit other must-see landmarks on the Las Vegas Strip like the iconic Las Vegas sign and the Luxor pyramid, you can hop on the free Exalibur-Luxor-Mandalay Bay tram, or just walk to those other casinos without even stepping outside!
- Address: 3850 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $45 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.6/10 (Booking.com), 8.0/10 (Expedia), 4.1/5 (Google)
3. Harrah’s Las Vegas

Harrah’s is a no-fuss hotel on the Strip, that gives you a clean, comfortable stay in a central location without spending a fortune. It’s not the flashiest resort on the Strip, but the rooms are clean, comfortable, and just right for unwinding after a busy day. It’s a solid place to crash, as the location is one of its biggest selling points. You can walk out the front door and you’re practically in front of The LINQ Promenade, home to the world-famous LINQ High Roller (which is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world!). You’re right in the middle of everything, and you can go to Caesars Palace and the Flamingo, which are just steps away. Pretty much anything you need is within easy walking distance.
The casino has a more laid-back vibe compared to some of the bigger, flashier resorts. The hotel is a nice choice if you’re after something a little more relaxed. You still get the full Vegas experience, and there’s often live music in the piano bar which is really fun to hang around. The on-site entertainment, especially the comedy shows and live performances, adds more value to your stay. If you’re in town to explore, gamble, and hang out without spending all day in your room, Harrah’s Las Vegas is a smart pick.
- Address: 3475 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $55 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.5/10 (Booking.com), 7.8/10 (Expedia), 4/5 (Google)
➡️ Book your stay at Harrah’s here!
4. The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The LINQ is another great budget-friendly hotel, with plenty of things to do. It feels younger and trendier than a lot of other budget-friendly hotels on the Strip, and even though the rooms are definitely on the smaller side, they’re modern and clean, which is really the most important feature in a budget-friendly hotel. Best of all, you’re right in the middle of the Strip with easy access to properties like Caesars Palace and the Venetian, and the LINQ Promenade and LINQ High Roller are basically in your backyard!
One of the best parts is that it’s connected to The LINQ Promenade, which has plenty of restaurants like In-N-Out, Gordon Ramsay’s Fish and Chips, Yard House, and more. I can’t stress how fantastic the location is enough. It’s easy to access the Las Vegas Monorail and the rest of the Strip. You walk out, and you’re instantly in the middle of the Strip. You can’t beat that. Plus, the pool area is pretty solid. It’s nothing luxurious, but it’s nice and modern. If your Vegas itinerary includes being out and about and hardly spending time in your hotel, The LINQ is a great choice.
The Spa at the LINQ is also one of the best spas in Las Vegas!
- Address: 3535 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $70 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.4/10 (Booking.com), 7.4/10 (Expedia), 4.2/5 (Google)
5. Luxor Hotel & Casino

Luxor gets a bad rap, but my boyfriend recently stayed in Luxor, and he really enjoyed his stay! Luxor Hotel and Casino is one of the older casinos on the Strip, but the rooms are big and clean, the beds are soft, and it’s an overall cool place because it’s shaped like a pyramid. The elevators go up at an angle, and the rooms have the outside wall slanted outward at an angle.
The rooms aren’t the newest on the Strip, but they’re spacious and memorable. Parts of the hotel are a bit quirky and a little dated (it does take some time to get used to those elevators), but it’s still a solid budget-friendly hotel. The casino is more relaxed, and it’s nice to be connected to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur. It’s easy to wander between all three without even stepping outside in the brutal Vegas heat (like how it often is in the summertime in Las Vegas). If you don’t mind a slightly older room, and you want to stretch your budget while still staying in an iconic Vegas spot, Luxor is a nice pick! Plus it is home to one of the most affordable spas on the Las Vegas Strip: Nurture Spa & Salon!
- Address: 3900 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $50 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.4/10 (Booking.com), 7.6/10 (Expedia), 4.1/5 (Google)
6. The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower

The STRAT is located at the very north end of the Strip and offers great value for the price. The rooms are basic but clean, and the beds are comfortable. Some of the tower rooms have been recently renovated, and they feel more modern and less “off the highway” like some of the older rooms. What really makes The STRAT stand out though is the views. The observation deck and thrill rides at the top of the tower are actually worth doing, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. If you are, it’s nice to be part of the action.
The hotel is well-maintained and if you choose to stay at the STRAT Hotel & Casino, you get discount vouchers for the STRAT Tower to ride up and see the view (sometimes for as little as $10!). If you’re the type to spend your time out exploring instead of lounging in the room, The STRAT is a smart choice. Even though it’s farther from the heart of the Strip, you can take the Las Vegas Monorail or Uber to get around, if you don’t want to walk. The casino and restaurants inside may not be the fanciest, but they’re not the worst.
- Address: 2000 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $40 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.3/10 (Booking.com), 7.6/10 (Expedia), 4/5 (Google)
➡️ Reserve your stay at The STRAT here!
7. Flamingo Las Vegas

Flamingo is one of the more popular budget-friendly hotels because of its location and good value. It definitely gives old-school Vegas vibes and is full of character. The room quality can vary depending on what tower you’re in, but usually, the GO rooms are the most updated and a lot nicer than you’d expect for the price. The beds are comfy, and the Habitat side is nice to stay at since you can see the waterfalls, walkways, and wildlife outside (it’s definitely more relaxing than the usual Strip scene).
The location is hard to beat too. From the moment you walk outside, you’re right across from Caesars and next to The LINQ Promenade. Also, the pool area is one of the highlights of the hotel. It’s big, fun, and in the summertime, the pool can get wild as it transforms into a crazy party scene. The wildlife habitat in the courtyard is also a huge plus, and is one of the many free things you can do in Las Vegas! You can see real Flamingos and other animals, and walk around peaceful waterfalls. If you’re here to have fun and don’t need a luxury suite, Flamingo is a great choice.
- Address: 3555 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $50 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.2/10 (Booking.com), 7.2/10 (Expedia), 4/5 (Google)
8. New York-New York Hotel & Casino

New York-New York is another popular budget-friendly spot in Vegas for the things to do and amazing value for the location. The rooms are clean, modern, and way more comfortable than expected. You’ve got the Statue of Liberty out front, the Brooklyn Bridge by the entrance shows like Mad Apple by Cirque du Soleil, and the inside looks like you’re walking the streets of New York with so many little shops and dining choices. There’s even a rollercoaster upstairs!
The casino is lively, and the food court has delicious options like Shake Shack, one of the best affordable restaurants in Las Vegas. There’s so much to do inside the hotel, you almost don’t need to leave, plus, you’re just a short walk away from Park MGM, and you can take the free Aria Express Tram to get to Bellagio and the other end of the Strip. You feel like you’re getting the full Vegas experience in New York-New York, without spending a fortune. Overall, New York New York is a nice budget hotel, and the value for the price is hard to beat.
- Address: 3790 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $95 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 8.1/10 (Booking.com), 8.4/10 (Expedia), 4.4/5 (Google)
9. Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally’s)

We stayed at Horseshoe once when it was still Bally’s, and after the rebrand, honestly, it’s gotten better. The updated rooms are bigger than most budget spots on the Strip (I’m talking, like, absolutely massive) and the new updates give it a more polished, modern feel. The hotel isn’t flashy, but it feels solid and clean, plus, you’re right in the middle of everything. You can walk to Paris without stepping outside, and when you step outside you’re in the middle of everything, like the Bellagio fountains and Caesar’s Palace right next door.
It’s easy to get in and out of this hotel too, with no huge maze of hallways like in other hotels, or over-the-top crowds. The casino doesn’t feel like it’s stuck in the 90s anymore, and for the price, it’s one of the better deals on the Strip, especially if you want space and location without paying $300 a night. If you step outside, you have plenty of restaurants like Giordanos and Ole Red in your backyard, plus some fun shops you can explore in the outdoor mall!
- Address: 3645 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $65 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.4/10 (Booking.com), 7.8/10 (Expedia), 4.1/5 (Google)

Best Affordable Hotels on the Vegas Strip (Mid-Tier Under $350)
If you have a little more room in your budget but still don’t want to spend too much money on hotels, these hotels give you a great experience at a slightly higher price point. You’ll get more amenities, and better room quality, and still be in the heart of the action. Here are some of the best affordable hotels on the Las Vegas Strip for under $350.
10. Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas is honestly such a nice hotel and in an amazing location. It’s a great hotel if you want a slightly elevated experience without going into the high-roller/mega luxury territory. The hotel’s charm is hard to beat, with a European-inspired interior, plenty of amazing French-inspired eateries (like mini crepe shops and French cafes), and the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe replicas are iconic.
We stayed here recently, and the rooms are really nice and clean, and cozy, and the casino area isn’t as large and overwhelming as some of the larger resorts. They do a really great job keeping everything up to date, and the hotel feels really romantic and elegant, especially at night when the Eiffel Tower lights up. The location is pretty hard to beat too, and super convenient. You’re smack in the middle of the Strip, with easy access to places like The LINQ and Bellagio. It’s a solid choice if you want a touch of class to your Vegas stay, without splurging on a full luxury experience.
Paris Las Vegas is also home to Mon Ami Gabi, one of the best restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip.
- Address: 3655 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $120 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.6/10 (Booking.com), 7.8/10 (Expedia), 4.4/5 (Google)
11. Park MGM Las Vegas

Park MGM is high on my Vegas must-stay list. It’s one of the few non-smoking hotels and casinos on the Strip, which gives it a noticeably cleaner, more relaxed vibe than many of the other resorts. The atmosphere feels modern and laid back, and the casino is never super crowded or noisy. The hotel is perfect if you’re looking for a little escape from the usual hustle of Vegas.
Location-wise, it’s in a sweet spot. You’ve got direct access to the free tram that runs between Park MGM, Aria, and Bellagio, making it super convenient to explore some of the Strip’s most iconic spots. You’re also still close enough to other major spots if you want to check out the bigger hotels like New York-New York and MGM Grand. You’re also moments away from NoMad Las Vegas, which has a gorgeous restaurant and bar. Park MGM feels more like a boutique hotel than a big city hotel. Plus, if you’re in town for a concert or event, the T-Mobile Arena is just steps away, making this hotel a perfect home base for show nights.
The rooms themselves are simple, stylish, and super comfortable. And if you’re working remotely like I often do, there’s a hidden gem of a conference area tucked away in the hotel, right across from the hotel lobby, with plenty of quiet seating. It’s become my go-to spot for Zoom calls or catching up on emails when I want to get out of the room but still be productive.
- Address: 3770 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $115 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 8.2/10 (Booking.com), 8.6/10 (Expedia), 4.3/5 (Google)
12. Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino

Planet Hollywood is a solid hotel option, right in the center of the Strip and across the street from Bellagio. The rooms are pretty spacious, and while some might say they’re a little dated, I’ve always found them to be clean and well-kept. The resort has a more modern, fun vibe, especially with all the pop culture memorabilia around the casino. Plus, you have easy access to one of the best shopping centers on the Strip, the Miracle Mile Shops, which has so many eateries (that are delicious without breaking the bank) and shops.
Planet Hollywood is convenient and centrally located, and the casino is always lively. There are some mixed reviews online about Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, but I’ve only heard good things about the hotel from friends and family. It’s a solid choice, with nice big rooms! It seems to be pretty updated compared to other hotels on the Strip.
- Address: 3667 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $120 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.9/10 (Booking.com), 8/10 (Expedia), 4.3/5 (Google)
➡️ Reserve your stay at Planet Hollywood here!
13. SAHARA Las Vegas

SAHARA Las Vegas is a solid hotel experience that doesn’t break the bank. The property has improved after its rebranding. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a more modern, sleek design compared to some of the older hotels on the Strip. SAHARA is more laid-back than the other hotels on the Strip and is a bit quieter, but still close to the action. You’re close to the Las Vegas Monorail stop, and I’ve heard amazing things about the rooftop pool with views of the Vegas skyline.
The casino has a good selection of games without feeling overcrowded, which makes it a relaxing place to try your luck, and overall the hotel is affordable with good amenities. And when it comes to food, I’ve heard people mention that the dining options here are pretty solid, especially for a mid-range hotel. If you’re looking for a quieter, budget-friendly spot on the north end of the Strip, SAHARA is definitely worth considering.
- Address: 2535 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $90 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 8.1/10 (Booking.com), 8.4/10 (Expedia), 4.1/5 (Google)
14. MGM Grand

The MGM Grand really has everything. The size of the property can be a little overwhelming at first (a lot goes on here, and MGM Grand was once the largest hotel in the world), but once you understand the layout of the hotel, it’s pretty easy to navigate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with modern amenities and modern decor. You won’t be bored at the MGM Grand, as many shows like Ka by Cirque du Soleil and David Copperfield happen in the hotel. Plus, you can go to nightclubs like Hakkasan, dine at really great restaurants and you have easy access to some great bars. Plus, you’re one of the first stops on the Las Vegas Monorail!
The location is super convenient, and it’s a bit on the higher end of affordable hotels on the Strip, but if you’re looking for a place that has everything under one roof, MGM Grand makes sense. The property has plenty to offer, from entertainment to dining and huge, spacious pools.
- Address: 3799 Las Vegas Blvd S
- Starting Price: Around $110 per night (plus resort fee)
- Rating: 7.5/10 (Booking.com), 7.8/10 (Expedia), 4.3/5 (Google)
Conclusion
The Las Vegas Strip has a hotel for every budget, but finding one that’s truly affordable while still delivering an incredible experience can be a bit of a challenge, especially if you don’t know exactly where to look. If you’re actively searching for a hotel that costs less than $260, or if you’re willing to spend a bit more for additional amenities, these hotels are great options that will comfortably fit your travel style and wallet and enhance your overall stay!
I’ve had my fair share of unique experiences staying in different places on the Strip, mostly in a variety of budget spots like Excalibur and Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, and these valued spots have consistently impressed me with their exceptional value and comfort. Next time you plan your Vegas vacation, these hotels should definitely be on your radar for your next stay! Trust me, you really don’t have to break the bank to have an incredible and memorable trip to Vegas.
Hopefully, this post helped narrow your options effectively and saved you from falling into a bottomless pit of late-night Googling and incessant review scrolling.
Happy travels and Viva Las Vegas!
